EFFECTIVE PROJECTED AREA (EPA)
Selecting the proper size pole for a specific application requires one to know the EPA of the total number of fixtures to be mounted on the pole. Refer to Luminaire Catalogue Sheets for EPA ratings. Because of the different wind velocities in any geographical area, reference should be made to the area where the pole is to be installed. Proper selection should be made from the U.S. and Canadian Isotach map.
HOW TO SELECT A PROPER SIZE POLE?
1.Utilize the Isotach map to determine the wind speed for the location where pole is to be installed.
2.Determine fixture(s) total EPA rating.
3.Select the proper size pole to handle the required EPA at the specific wind speed.
Note: In instance where arms are required
it is necessary to include EPA of bracketry.
